The modern reader is always on the go. They appreciate brief wisdom and striking symbols, sudden revelations and profound metaphors. In a word, aphorisms! Armen Ghalumyan's new book, Simple Aphorisms for Not All Time, or the Chronology of My Wisdom, goes beyond an ordinary collection of witty sayings. This is a collection of aphorisms and reflections, often quite ironic, in which the author sums up his life observations over two years. A scattering of apt sayings illuminates all facets of human existence: wealth and success, politics and religion, love and happiness. You will also find here the most relevant topics of the present era, including artificial intelligence and social media, as well as the eternal questions of freedom and self-knowledge.

Ghalumyan's aphorisms will help you show off your wit among friends, make an impression on your significant other, and simply ask yourself: am I living the right life? What are my talents, inspiration and charisma?

The book is intended for a broad international audience, as it is presented in two languages at once Russian and English.

Foreword

Wisdom in humans is an extremely rare phenomenon. For the most part, we are emotional and impulsive creatures, while wisdom is characterized by peace of mind and soul. Wisdom can come suddenly, like an epiphany, at some point in life, after a certain event or the appearance of a significant person. It is usually accompanied by a complete rethinking of views or the completion of an important stage in life. Accumulated experience can serve as a basis for wisdom, though many accumulate completely different things. The mere number of years lived, as was naively believed earlier, does not give the right to be considered wise, especially to those who live in vain. However, regardless of the above, wisdom implies the obligatory presence of two integral components: intelligence and the ability to analyze what is happening or has happened. To our deepest misfortune, a good half of humanity is deprived of both, which is proven by crowds of short-sighted and reckless people in different corners of our planet.

Apart from my analytical mindset, my modest wisdom is based on some of the above factors: life experience (approaching my sixth decade, I have already gone through enough that I can and should share with others), the beginning of a completely new chapter in life (the page of the past has been turned, and the present and future are full of goals and plans) and the appearance of that very special person (it was she who helped me to strengthen my faith in myself and start looking at many things differently). This work is dedicated to her, my gentle and faithful companion. During our constant conversations, a certain truth was born that spurred me to write the aphorisms set out below. It is noteworthy that smart thoughts attacked me at night when my brain rested from the cruel bustle of the day and was in a reality independent of its owner.
