Story 1. A New Morning

 1.  

Tom is thirty years old. He lives in a small apartment in the city. Every morning, his alarm rings at seven o'clock.

"Oh no, not again," Tom says. He gets up slowly.

 ,   ,   .   .

His dog, Max, is already awake. Max jumps on the bed.

     .    .

"Good morning, Max," says Tom. "Are you hungry?"

Max barks. Tom laughs and goes to the kitchen. He makes coffee and toast. He looks out of the window. The sky is blue.

"It's a nice day," Tom thinks.

He feeds Max. Then he takes a shower and gets dressed. He puts on a blue shirt and black pants.

At eight o'clock, Tom leaves the apartment. He walks to the bus stop.

"Hi, Tom!" says his neighbor, Anna. "How are you today?"

"I'm good, thanks," says Tom. "And you?"

"Fine, thank you," says Anna. "Nice weather, isn't it?"

"Yes, it is," says Tom.

The bus comes. Tom says goodbye to Anna and gets on the bus. He goes to work. It is a new day, and Tom feels happy.

Story 2. The Job Interview

Tom works in an office. Today, he has a big interview for a new job.

He wakes up early. He is nervous.

"Don't worry, Tom," he tells himself. "You can do this."

He puts on his best suit. He looks in the mirror.

"OK. I'm ready," he says.

Tom takes the bus to the interview. He arrives ten minutes early.

"Good morning," says the woman at the desk. "Are you Tom?"

"Yes, I am," says Tom.

"Please, sit down. Mr. Collins will see you soon," she says.

Tom sits and waits. He is very nervous. Then a man comes out.

"Hello, Tom. I'm Mr. Collins. Please, come in," he says.

They go into an office. Mr. Collins asks many questions.

"Why do you want this job?" he asks.

"I like new challenges," says Tom. "And I want to learn more."

"Very good answer," says Mr. Collins with a smile.

After thirty minutes, the interview is finished.

"Thank you, Tom. We will call you next week," says Mr. Collins.

Tom leaves the office. He is tired, but he feels good.

"I think it went well," he thinks, and smiles.
