Вероника Рот — современная американская писательница, известная своими произведениями в жанрах фантастики и антиутопии. Она родилась 19 августа 1988 года в Нью-Йорке в семье выходцев из Германии и Польши. После развода родителей в детстве Вероника выросла в новой семье, так как её мать снова вышла замуж. Она окончила среднюю школу Барингтона и Карлтон-колледж, а затем поступила на филологический факультет Северо-Западного университета, где изучала программу для будущих писателей. В 2011 году Вероника вышла замуж за фотографа Нельсона Фитча и сейчас живёт в Чикаго. ### Творчество Вероники Рот Под влиянием матери-художницы Вероника рано начала писать рассказы. Уже в 12 лет она определилась с будущей профессией, а в 22 года выпустила свой первый роман — «Дивергент». Примечательно, что девушка работала над книгой урывками, чтобы не запускать учёбу в университете.
