Anna felt a gentle touch, as if an electric current passed through her skin, a flow of energy – and something else she couldn’t name or understand. She eagerly and gratefully absorbed these energies: every particle of love and warmth, every quantum of tenderness Sergey gave her. Anna dissolved in that tenderness, sank into his love, and was already far away – and yet still here, beside Sergey.
Sergey closed his eyes and found himself among the stars. She was there too – his Anna. Hand in hand, they flew from star to star, exchanging greetings with celestial clusters. They lingered near solitary stars outside the clusters, sharing a few kind words to ease their loneliness before moving on. They took care not to provoke the temperamental red supergiants, ready to explode into supernovae, and gave them a wide berth.
