**Уильям Уортон: творческий путь художника и писателя** Уильям Уортон, известный художник-импрессионист и писатель, настоящее имя которого Альберт Дюэме, родился 7 ноября 1925 года в Филадельфии, штат Пенсильвания. **Военная служба и её последствия** После школы Альберт был призван в армию США и направлен в инженерное подразделение. Во время Второй мировой войны его перевели в пехоту, где он был тяжело ранен в битве в Арденнах. Этот опыт оставил глубокий след в его душе, что впоследствии отразилось в его мемуарах: «Война для меня, хотя и короткая, была душевной травмой. Я был напуган, несчастен и потерял веру в людей, особенно в себя». **Мирная жизнь и творчество** После демобилизации Альберт Дюэме продолжил образование в Калифорнийском университете в Лос-Анджелесе, где получил степень бакалавра в области искусства и степень доктора психологии.
