VoxZero. Kammerton

The city runs like an orchestra. Eleven million voices keep their parts, even
and on time, and a machine stands at the conductors stand: it hears them
all at once and cares for each, so that no one ever has to sound against the
grain. The bracelet glows green, the rain comes on schedule, and happiness
is issued daily, like water and light.
The orchestra has a face — a young woman whose voice wishes the city a
good morning every day. She has lied so long that she no longer knows
where her own voice ends and someone elses script begins. And down
below, a teenager is growing up who sounds out of tune. One day his note
will be heard by the whole city.
A novel about happiness imposed and the bitter truth that costs more.
About courage, and growing up. About the place inside each of us that no
one can reach.
Go down beneath the lit tiers. Walk out to where the schedule ends. And
hear what happens when one note refuses to play in time.
