In the next lesson, we had a group activity. The teacher put us in the same group. We had to read a text and answer some questions together. Tom was a bit slow, but he tried to do his best. I helped him with some words, and he said thank you.
At lunch, I invited him to sit with my friends. At first, he was quiet, but then he started to listen and smile. My friends asked him simple questions, and he answered. Soon, he felt more comfortable.
At the end of the day, Tom said, «Thank you for your help.» I said, «No problem. See you tomorrow.» He looked happy.
Now Tom is not so shy. He talks more in class and works with other students. I think it is not easy to be a new student, but a little help can make a big difference.

Making a New Friend
Last month, I made a new friend in an unexpected way. It happened after school, on a normal day. I was walking home and thinking about my homework when I saw a boy sitting on a bench near the park. He looked a little sad and was looking at his phone.
I walked past him, but then I stopped. I thought, «Maybe I can talk to him.» I went back and said, «Hi.» He looked surprised but said hello. His name was Daniel.
At first, the conversation was a little difficult. We did not know each other, and we did not know what to say. I asked simple questions like «Do you live near here?» and «Do you go to this school?» He answered slowly, but after a few minutes, he started to relax.
He told me that he was new in the area and did not have many friends yet. I understood him because I felt the same way when I changed schools last year. I told him about my experience, and he listened внимательно.
We decided to walk together in the park. We talked about school, hobbies, and our favorite games. We both liked football and watching films. Soon, the conversation became easy, and we started to laugh.
The next day, we met again after school. This time, we were not shy. We talked more and shared stories about our classes and teachers. I introduced him to my friends, and they were friendly to him.
After a week, we were already good friends. We often spent time together, did homework, and played football. It felt natural, like we knew each other for a long time.
Making a new friend was not as difficult as I thought. Sometimes, you just need to say «hello» and start a simple conversation. That small step can change everything.

My Best Friend
My best friend is Alex. We have known each other for three years, and we go to the same school. We met in class on the first day, and now we spend a lot of time together.
Alex is a very kind and friendly person. He always smiles and tries to help others. When I have a problem, I can talk to him, and he listens carefully. He gives good advice and makes me feel better.
We have many things in common. We both like football and often play together after school. We also enjoy watching films and listening to music. Sometimes we go for a walk and talk about school, our plans, and our dreams.
At school, we usually sit together. We help each other with homework and explain things when something is difficult. For example, Alex is very good at math, so he helps me understand it. I help him with English because I like this subject more.
One day, I forgot my homework at home and felt very worried. Alex tried to help me and said, «Don’t worry, it happens.» His words made me feel calmer. It is important to have someone like that.
We also have a lot of fun together. Sometimes we tell jokes and laugh a lot. One time, we tried to cook dinner without help, but it was not very good. We laughed and ordered food instead.
Alex is not just a classmate. He is like a brother to me. I trust him, and I know he trusts me too.
I think a best friend is someone who understands you, supports you, and shares good and bad moments with you. I am lucky to have a friend like Alex.

A Birthday Party
Last weekend, I went to a birthday party. It was my friend Anna’s birthday, and she invited many people from our class. The party was at her house, and I was very happy to go.
I arrived at five o’clock with a small present. I bought her a book because she likes reading. When I came in, Anna smiled and said, «Thank you for coming!» Her house looked very nice. There were balloons, music, and a big table with food.
At first, we talked and listened to music. Some students were dancing, and others were sitting and chatting. I felt a little shy, but soon I started talking to my friends, and I felt more comfortable.
After some time, we played games. One game was very funny. We had to guess words without speaking. Everyone laughed a lot because it was not easy. Even the quiet students joined the game.
Then it was time for dinner. There were many things to eat: pizza, salad, sandwiches, and juice. Everything was very tasty. We sat at the table, ate, and talked. The atmosphere was warm and friendly.
After dinner, Anna brought a big birthday cake. It had candles on it. We all sang «Happy Birthday» together. She closed her eyes, made a wish, and blew out the candles. Everyone clapped and smiled.
Later, we danced again and took photos. We made funny faces and laughed. It was a very happy moment. I forgot about time because I was having so much fun.
At about nine o’clock, I said goodbye to Anna and thanked her for the party. She looked happy and a little tired.
It was a great evening. I enjoyed the party, the food, and the time with my friends. It was a birthday I will remember for a long time.

A Family Dinner
Last Sunday, we had a family dinner at our home. My grandparents came to visit us, and we wanted to spend time together. My mother started cooking in the afternoon, and the kitchen smelled very good.
I helped her prepare the table. I put plates, glasses, and forks in the right places. I also brought bread and drinks. My father came home a little later and helped with the food. He made a salad and cut vegetables.
At about six o’clock, my grandparents arrived. I opened the door and said hello. My grandmother hugged me, and my grandfather smiled and asked about school. We all went to the living room and talked for some time.
Soon, everything was ready. We sat at the table and started dinner. There was soup, chicken, rice, and vegetables. The food was very tasty. Everyone was eating and talking at the same time.
We talked about many things. My grandparents told stories about their past. Some stories were funny, and some were interesting. My father talked about his work, and my mother asked questions. I told them about my school and my friends.
At one moment, my grandfather told a joke, and we all laughed. It was a simple joke, but it made the evening more fun. I like moments like that.
After the main meal, we had tea and dessert. My mother made a cake, and it was very good. We sat at the table for a long time and did not want to leave.
